More and more self-adhesive label customers hope that printers can perform hot stamping on the label. Hot stamping has become a standard process in the industry. If there is any deficiency, it will lose part of its competitive advantage.
As a part of commodity packaging, the unique and intuitive printing effect of cold stamping has won the hearts of merchants and customers. Its operation is simple, it creates a distinctive sensory effect, not only has low production costs but also increases the added value of the products. Cold hot stamping technology also solves the difficult process problems in hot stamping printing, avoids environmental pollution in the process of making metal printing plates, and saves a lot of energy.
After printing the self-adhesive label, pay attention to it after cold stamping!
A. Due to the poor leveling properties of the UV adhesive used in cold stamping printing, some of the dried surface is not flat, resulting in poor surface brightness of the electrochemical aluminum foil transferred on it, and even diffuse reflection. In addition, cold stamping is currently not suitable for film materials with shrinkage characteristics (such as PVC, PE, etc.). In these two points, the effect of cold bronzing is not as good as traditional hot bronzing.
B. Since the quality of cold stamping printing depends on the quality of the glue being printed, it is necessary to pay attention to the quality and printability of the glue and pay special attention to observation and summary of printing experience for better operation in the future.
C. Since the pattern of anodized aluminum foil printed by cold hot stamping is embossed on the surface of the printed matter, its firmness is very poor and must be covered with protection. Therefore, after the cold stamping of the printed matter, the surface of the printed matter must be polished or waxed to protect the pattern of the electrochemical aluminum foil, which increases the cost of cold stamping and the complexity of the process.
D. The requirements of cold stamping printing on the substrate can only be printed on the smooth surface of the substrate. The glue will be absorbed on the rough substrate, resulting in insufficient glue on the surface of the substrate for cold stamping printing. Therefore, cold hot stamping technology needs to be improved for printing on substrates with rough surfaces (such as leather, etc.). Therefore, when selecting substrates, attention should be paid to the smoothness of the surface.
